The men and women assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division perform the most visible and recognizable functions of the Sheriff's Office.  They are the ones that respond to your calls for assistance.  You will find them in your neighborhoods behind the wheel of a patrol car, looking for a lost child, comforting the victim of a crime, or questioning someone who doesn't appear to belong in your neighborhood.  Deputies assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division are, quite often, the agency's first line of defense in the county's largest law enforcement agency.

Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office Uniform Patrol Division consist of 100 + Deputies. The Uniform Patrol Division is divided into 4 platoons: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta. Deputies work a 12 hour shift. Alpha and Bravo Platoons work day shift from 7am-7pm while Charlie and Delta Platoon work night shift from 7pm-7am.

For operational purposes, the Sheriff's Office has divided Spartanburg County into four policing regions.  For quicker response those regions have been divided into zones. While each region and zone has enforcement challenges unique to itself, all of Spartanburg County continues to experience rapid growth that requires the agency to continually re-evaluate it's policies, procedures, and the way it does business.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff's has a new tool that will allow you to see what region and zone you live in and see what deputy works your zone. Thus allowing you to be able to know your deputy and allow you to email or leave a message for that deputy if you have a concern in your neighborhood. Please click on below map to continue

In Memory

Police Service Dog Diezel

EOW: May 13, 2010

Diezel was a police service dog, Belgian Malinois, 2 years old, imported from Holland via Wilmington, N.C.  Diezel was first trained in KNPV (European dog sport) while in Holland.  Once relocated to the United States Diezel was purchased by the Spartanburg County Sheriffs Office and partnered with Master Deputy Steve Henderson.  Henderson conducted all of Diezel's training in Wilmington, NC.  Diezel was trained in narcotics detection, tracking, article searches, building searches and criminal apprehension.

Diezel began policing the streets in October 2009.  While in service he was responsible for locating several dangerous fugitives from the streets.  The most recent being the escapee from Cowpens.  Diezel was also responsible for finding numerous amounts of illegal narcotics.

Diezel lived at home with MD Henderson along with his wife, Kristi and two daughters.

Diezel will be greatly missed by his family and his partners in blue.

A Working Dog's Oath

Author: Unknown

I will lay down my life for you
and expect nothing but love in return.
I protect my officer with my life,
and would gladly take a bullet in his place.
I am sent in to find lost children
and fugitives on the run.
I find drugs and weapons and even bombs.
I am the first sent in
and sometimes the last to leave.
I am the nose and ears of my officer.
I will protect and serve him.
I would die for him and for you.
I only ask for compassion and a kind word.
