Unsolved Homicide Cases in Spartanburg County
These cases are still open and are being investigated by detectives from the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office. Detectives are seeking information from witnesses and/or from anyone who may have knowledge about these cases. 2008 James Terrell Young	2007 Crystal Bradshaw
Click Here for More Information Date: 02/29/08 James Young was killed at his apartment on Stone Creek Dr. in the Springfield community. He was shot to death as 3 masked subjects apparently tried to rob him at his apartment. No arrests have been made in the homicide.	Click Here for More Information Date: 06/03/07 Crystal Bradshaw was found in her home on Northbrook St in Boiling Springs. Bradshaw was beaten to death. She was found inside her home after a fire was extinguished. No arrests have been made in the homicide.

2006 Karen Jerome Mullins	2006 Thomas Charles Woody
Click Here For More Information Date: 04/22/06 Mr. Mullins was killed in the parking lot of the Down South Club on Farley Ave. when a couple of subjects started shooting into the building and crowd. No arrests have been made in the homicide.	Click Here for More Information Date: 03/09/06 Thomas (Red) Woody’s body was found on the side of the road at the intersection of McGee St. and Millwood Dr. in the Arkwright community. Mr. Woody was killed by being shot while walking down the road at this intersection. The suspect(s) were driving a small white vehicle with a loud muffler and possible front end damage. No arrests have been made in the homicide.

2005 Mardell Hunter	2005 Donnie Miller, Jr.
Click Here For More Information Date: 12/14/05 Found Thursday near Woodruff appear to be the victims of a double-homicide. A friend found 16-year-old Donnie Miller Jr. and Mardell Hunter Jr., 43, in the back room of a one-story house at 868 Miller Road. The two died of gunshot wounds.Investigators estimate their deaths most likely Wednesday night or Thursday morning. No arrests have been made in the homicide. It was determined that Mr. Pruitt had been shot and killed before the fire. No arrests have been made in the homicide. No arrests have been made in the homicide.	Click Here for More Information Date: 07/16/02 Michael (Mickey) McGraw and Zachery Cunard were found in Cunard’s home on Dickson Rd. in Campobello deceased. Both of them had been shot several times. Mr. McGraw’s vehicle was found later that evening in Greenville County on Old Ballenger Rd. burning. No arrests have been made in the homicide.

2002 Michael Alan McGraw	2000 Laymond Lee Drummond
Click Here for More Information Date: 07/17/02 Michael (Mickey) McGraw and Zachery Cunard were found in Cunard’s home on Dickson Rd. in Campobello deceased. Both of them had been shot several times. McGraw’s vehicle was found later that evening in Greenville County on Old Ballenger Rd. burning. No arrests have been made in the homicide.	Click Here for More Information Date: 05/08/00 Laymond Drummond was shot to death at Ma & Me Lounge at Lister Rd. in Greer. Laymond was shot while he was sitting in his burgundy pick-up. He was found at approximately 1:00 p.m. which is outside of the normal operating hours for the bar while meeting with someone when an apparent dispute occurred. No arrests have been made in the homicide.

1998 Unidentified Female	1997 Brenda Sue Tucker
Click Here for More Information Date: 05/13/1998 The body of an unidentified Asian female was found on the side of the road on Casual Dr. off of N. Blackstock Rd. She was killed as a result of asphyxiation. No arrests have been made in the homicide.	Click Here for More Information Date: 03/10/1997 Brenda Tucker was the clerk working at the Li’L Vegas, a video poker business, on Asheville Highway near California Avenue in Spartanburg when she was shot and killed in an apparent Robbery. No arrests have been made in the homicide.

Click Here for More Information Date: 01/02/93 Skeletal remains were located off of Bradley Rd. in Wellford, and they were identified as belonging to Anna Caroline Lake who had been reported missing on 09/06/90. It was believed that Caroline Lake was stabbed to death. No arrests have been made in the homicide.	Click Here for More Information Date: 07/05/92 Autumn Cox was reported missing from Concord NC in February of 1990. Her skeletal remains were found on 07/05/02 behind the old Spartan Undies building at Bond Industrial Park. Possible cause of death is from a stab with an edged object. No arrests have been made in the homicide.

1992 Ronald Sam Rogers	1991 Ray Ballard
Click Here for More Information Date: 04/26/92 Ronald Rogers’ nude body was found in the cul-de-sac at Hillside Park in Duncan shot to death. He was last seen at the Dairy Queen near the Truck Stops of America. He was found beside his vehicle. No arrests have been made in the homicide.	Click Here for More Information Date: 08/04/91 Ray Ballard was found in his home at Willow Lake apartments shot to death. No arrests have been made in the homicide.

Click Here for More Information Date: 08/24/90 The body of an Unidentified White Female was found near Hoechst Fibers off Davis Chapel Rd. The hands, feet, and head of the victim were removed This victim had a birth defect in her spine which may have caused a limp. The remains are of a white female approximate age at the time was between 25-30 with a height between 5 feet and 5 feet 3 inches. No arrests have been made in the homicide.	Click Here for More Information Date: 11/29/89 Skeletal remains were found at Foster Grove Rd. and Old Furnace Rd. that were later identified as belonging to Arthur Griffin. The cause of death was a gunshot wound. No arrests have been made in the homicide.

Click Here for More Information Date: 06/27/89 Rayford Rogers’ body was found in the trunk of his car off Frey Rd. in the Wellford community. He died from a drug overdose that may have been intentionally made lethal. No arrests have been made in the homicide.	Click Here for More Information Date: 10/23/88 James Hindman’s body was found off Becky Gibson Rd. in Greer in a wooded area. He died from a gunshot wound. Mr. Hindman was reported missing on 07/12/88 and his body was discovered on 10/23/88. No arrests have been made in the homicide.

1988 Vicki Mae Johnson	1987 James Larry Smith
Click Here for More Information Date: 01/26/88 Vicki Johnson’s body was found in a field at a migrant camp off Parris Bridge Rd. beaten to death. She was reported missing on 12/30/87. No arrests have been made in the homicide.	Click Here for More Information Date: 12/03/87 An unknown white male intruder waited in the Murph Rd. home in the Pauline community, and beat James Smith as he came into his home. James Smith died several months later as a result of his injuries. No arrests have been made in the homicide.

1987 Jeffery Lynn West	1987 Doris Ferguson
Click Here for More Information Date: 12/15/87 The body of Jeffery West was found in room 225 of the Ramada Inn on Charisma Dr. shot to death. No arrests have been made in the homicide.	Click Here for More Information Date: 02/28/87 The bodies of Eric and Doris Ferguson were found in their home in the Pauline community on 03/01/87, shot to death. No arrests have been made in the homicide.

No arrests have been made in the homicide.	Click Here for More Information Date: 12/04/86 Eugene Wright was found behind the counter of the Hotel that he operated on Whitestone Rd. off of S. Pine St.. Eugene Wright was shot to death. There were two young black males seen running from the office during the time frame that the murder is believed to have occurred. This appears to have been a robbery. No arrests have been made in the homicide.

1985 Norwood Fann	1984 Haud Columbus Shaffer
Click Here for More Information Date: 12/17/85 Norwood Fann’s body was found on Glenn Rd. off of Howard St. with a gunshot wound. There was a small white car seen in the area around the time of the Murder. No arrests have been made in the homicide.	Click Here for More Information Date: 12/18/84 Haud Shaffer was ambushed and shot to death on the front porch of his home when he went outside to investigate a noise. He was shot as he exited his home. No arrests have been made in the homicide.

Click Here for More Information Date: 01/03/84 James Gibson aka. “Cutie Pie” was found dead in his home from gunshot wounds. No arrests have been made in the homicide.	Click Here for More Information Date: 12/19/83 Jerry Jerrell’s body was found in Lake Bowen with several gunshot wounds. He was reported missing on 11/18/83 after his vehicle was found burning on a fire break by the railroad tracks north of Mayo. No arrests have been made in the homicide.

Click Here for More Information Date: 08/15/83 The body of Carolyn Potter was found in her home at #7 Hillside Park in Campobello. She had beaten to death by a blunt object No arrests have been made in the homicide.	Click Here for More Information Date: 03/19/82 Mary Kay Johnson’s body was found off of road 50 in the Walnut Grove community near Nesbitt’s Bridge. She was beaten to death with a blunt object. No arrests have been made in the homicide.

Click Here for More Information Date: 11/19/79 Claude Solesbee, a used car salesman, was ambushed and shot outside of his home on Mike Cir. in the Boiling Springs community. No arrests have been made in the homicide.	Click Here for More Information Date: 12/14/78 Earl Harrelson was reported missing and later found on Hopper Fish Camp Rd. in the Clifton area shot to death. Earl Harrelson was an insurance salesman and this was an apparent robbery. No arrests have been made in the homicide.

1977 Libby Sellars	1976 Wanda Dale Cooper
Click Here for More Information Date: 11/16/77 Libby Sellars’ body was found off of Hwy. 9 outside the Pacolet city limits in the woods, but just inside of Spartanburg County. She died from multiple lacerations to her upper body. The scene where the body was found appears to be where the body was placed, and it appears that she was killed somewhere else. No arrests have been made in the homicide.	Click Here for More Information Date: 08/04/76 Wanda Dale Cooper was found in her Fingerville home beaten and shot to death. There were signs of forced entry into the home. No arrests have been made in the homicide.

Click Here for More Information Date: 04/20/75 Pamela Vaughn’s body was found off the power line of American Legion Rd. in Greer. She died from stab wounds by an edged object. Her vehicle was found on Mt. Lebanon Rd. at Hwy. 14 where there were signs of abduction from that location. No arrests have been made in the homicide.	Click Here for More Information Date: 09/12/70 Michael Hinson, an 11th grade Dorman High School baseball player, was shot while at the intersection of Asheville Hwy. and California Ave. The shooter is believed to be the front passenger in a green late 60’s model Plymouth Fury, and may have lived in the Cleveland Park community at the time. No arrests have been made in the homicide.
